Concerning, nursing, ovulating, periods and break through bleeding.

Caitlin

So we are not trying for a 3rd baby, but we aren't preventing it either. It would kind of be nice to have a "surprise". But I am tired of the emotional roller coaster of thinking I'm pregnant.

So my toddler is will be 3 in March. We are working on weaning. He was almost completely weaned in October then had a series of back to back colds, stomach flus, and hand foot and mouth, in November/December and he was so sick and miserable and I felt so bad for him I let him start nursing again.

Ever since my cycle came back in July of 2017, it's been irregular. Anywhere from 32 to 48 days. My periods are light, and sometimes, like my last period (47 days ago) I had barely there spotting for 3 days, a light period day where I used my menstrual cup during the day, the next day was a medium-ish flow day, but by the end of the day I took my cup out and left it out and the next morning I was back to spotting, didn't even require a panty liner. That period was 45 days after my previous, light, period. Was that break through bleeding, maybe?

The app predicts an average cycle length of 34 days for me, an online calculator predicts a 38 day cycle as my average. And about half my cycles have been 32-36 days. So usually by day 42 I start thinking, okay, maybe, I might be pregnant. By day 46 or 47 I take a test. And no matter how inconvient of a month it may be to be surprised with a pregnancy, I'm always so disappointed when I get a negative.

Has anyone been through this? I am just getting really frustrated.
