Placenta previa and soft spot in baby’s heart
Just got the results of my anatomy scan today and although baby is developing well and healthy overall, my doctor informed me of two things: 1) I have placenta previa (my placenta is very close to my cervix when it shouldn’t be) and that if I spot or bleed, to go to the hospital right away. This may also lead to me having a planned c-section. 2) that there is a soft spot on the baby’s heart that she said could be an indicator of a chromosomal abnormality. However, my initial genetic scan came back with very low probabilities of abnormalities so my doc doesn’t seem very worried.
I’m just wondering, has anyone dealt with either one of these during their pregnancies? My doc is sending me to another ultrasound at week 28 (I’m currently 19 weeks) but it seems so far away.
Doctor has assured me that the probability is very high that I will carry until full term and that there aren’t any abnormalities. I still can’t shake the anxiety. Any insights and/or personal anecdotes are very welcomed. Thanks mommies 💛
