Twins?

So my boyfriends mom told me that twins run in her line of family and her husbands ( my boyfriend dad) line of family... so my question is does that mean when me and my boyfriend have kids we could get twins or does it all depend on my eggs? 
I think we could because it’s genetics. Right?

Identical twins are not genetic but fraternal twins do.. however, twins are only carried by the mother's genes. It doesnt matter if the father has twins in his family or not. You carry the twin gene

I’ve known 2 sets of identical twin boys have twins themselves. My husband is a twin and I keep teasing him that we are going to have twins.

It only runs from woman to woman. So you'd have to get the gene from your mom.

Its in the mothers genes. My husbands mom is a twin, he was a twin and his sisters are twins, but it doesnt increase our chances. We may never have twins
