Bleeding/clotting

Someone please help ease my mind. This is my first pregnancy and I am 6 weeks and 2 days. My husband and I were TTC for 7 years. A few days ago I started experiencing brownish spotting. Yesterday saw some red and went to the ER. He said everything looks ok, baby's HR is at 125. But this morning the bleeding is heavier (not period like, a little less) and there is some clotting along with mild to moderate cramping (between 5-8). My appt isn't until Friday, but I'm petrified that something is wrong.
