Woke up to a not so pleasant surprise FINAL UPDATE JAN 2

HN

In the ER. Don’t think things are looking good.

UPDATE#1: We left the ER. A short back story, I woke up to a gush of blood and a fist sized clot early this morning, accompanied by zero cramping. Unfortunately, my women’s clinic is closed for New Years today and my on-call OB told me to go to the ER... That’s a joke. So I will take it easy and just wait for tomorrow to go to my regular clinic.

I’d like to say I’m pretty good at research and am 90% sure it is a case of placenta previa. Will know for certain tomorrow. I’m hopeful.

UPDATE#2: It has been about 8 hours since the scary “gush” this morning. I finally got to get a couple more hours of sleep. My body is still pain free (except for the soreness of passing the clot), and this time when I stood up, another gush ran down my legs but NO MORE BRIGHT RED! I have no clue what that was about, 100% sure it wasn’t pee (it was coming from my vagina, not my urethra), but I can only imagine my body is doing what it needs to do. I trust it to take care of what I cannot control and I believe our baby is still doing great and wiggling around! Still hopeful.

Note to self: have towel handy when laying down for more than an hour.

UPDATE#3: Got another, really great nap in. I stood up and the flood gates did not open. 🙌🏻 I am having a very light spotting, hardly wiping anything at all.. but no clots as far as I’ve seen. Been over at my parents house since my daughter and I woke up after our long night this morning. Just precautionary in case of a worst case scenario (going into shock). My husband had to board his plane to the slope, hours after this all started so we are on our own at this point.

UPDATE#4: I was able to get in quickly once my women’s clinic opened. My appointment check in is in about 20 minutes. I’m feeling uncertain today. I have been staying positive for the sake of my family, but I had a light bleeding all night (which can be common with placenta previa). A few small clots. Mild cramping today—pretty sure from constipation but no telling at this point. Wish me luck ladies. I brought my daughter’s favorite toys with us, some sous vide eggs from Starbucks and some watered down apple juice. I decided I didn’t want anybody with me except her and she’s 1.5 so a little unpredictable lol

One more update to come, hopefully I get to give you all some good news!

FINAL UPDATE: Our baby is as wiggly as ever with a strong heartbeat! It was so beautiful seeing him wiggle around after all of this. My nurse says easy on the sex and it is likely not placenta previa since the bleeding has been tapering off. I am so happy! And feeling like super mom since my daughter was such a good girl during the appointment. She thoroughly enjoyed her 50/50 apple juice and loved seeing the baby on the screen. My MIL was in complete shock when I gave her the good news today. She spent hours trying to clean the blood out of the carpet for me last night so she knows how severe my bleeding was. After said hours of shampooing a large section of our bedroom floor, she ended up just laying carpet over our existing carpet. Bless her heart for helping the way she does.
