Less Babbling?

Question

I’ve noticed over the last couple weeks my LO is babbling less. (He’s 5 months + 1 week). He used to be pretty chatty especially in the morning. I’m wondering if anyone else is noticing the same thing? I’m thinking the babbling might be on hold because he’s learning lots of other things like how to sit up and roll. It seems like he’s so aware now and more interested in watching than talking... Anyone else?

Same here. My LO was born July 16. He seems to have traded his babbling for laughing! 😁 He started doing this silly kinda deep laugh almost like a cough, it cracks me up! 
Also, he's perfected rolling over and he's working hard on crawling! But he doesn't seem to incorporate his knees, he just keeps planking!!

If you look closely at his face you can see it frustrates him a bit that he's not going anywhere this way! 😂

Yes! Was thinking this yesterday.. definitely not as chatty as she used to be and she doesn’t screech as often anymore lol which I don’t miss

My son went thru a phase of babbling and then stopped. Then he decided to babble at 5 am. I feel like it comes and goes

My girl will be 6 months on the 13th and still hasn't rolled! She has only been rolling on her side for weeks now but doesn't care about going all the way. She is months from sitting on her own too or anything else😫 I have to carry her everywhere still. We do plenty of floor time but she just lays there🙄 She has gotten alot more vocal though so that's her thing I guess.

Mine Just talk when she want to... much less than when she staryed... she used to babble when changing diapers we used to have conversations.. now she smile and that's it.. but she she sees dad.. she talk.. or when she's in the booby..she gets distracted playing with her hands and babbling

Yep, us too. As you said, I think sometimes they put other things on hold so that they can focus on new skills.
