Mommies! Help! Do any of you lovely ladies have any feedback on Owlet sock?

My friend had her baby in March and she said that it was the best purchase she has made for her baby so far. She loves It and talks about it non stop. Said it only slipped off one time. I think people who say it slips off all the time may be mistaken. Maybe it’s an operator error 🤷🏼‍♀️ that’s the kindest way I can say that haha.

Well that sucks they said that. I just preordered mine because a friend of mine said it worked 
 great. The one I ordered comes with the sock and the camera. I had a brother that passed away from sids when I was a kid so this is not the only thing I will be using to monitor my babies breathing since I am paranoid about this. I believe I will be using the angel care in addition to this.

I went to a baby class where two pediatricians were the hosts/speakers and when asked about this product, they said to save your money. Apparently the owlet comes off easily and can misread if it not in perfect spot all the time and with baby moving throughout the night, it apparently alerts parents every time this happens and could cause a big panic production every time this happens

I heard it gives a lot of false alerts. Also, I don’t personally like the idea of the radiation that will be transmitted since we are exposed to so much already. It also isn’t approved to prevent SIDS, says so straight on their website. With that said, if it makes you feel more at ease, then go for it.

I never had one but a friend told me that it gave so many false alarms that she stopped using it because it was causing her more anxiety than it was worth.

I got mine refurbished & saved myself $100 I’m mainly going to use it for the peace of mind while baby sleeps & the whole false readings while every piece of technology I’m sure has its faults I’m a nurse so I’m sure I could quickly assess whether baby is in distress or if it’s a false alarm. Also I’ve heard that it’s something good to have in the event baby gets sick & you need to make sure they are getting enough oxygen. But then again if I don’t end up using it it’s something I could sell or let friends/family borrow

Apparently, the newer edition stays on better than the first edition. It wraps around the back and then around the foot. I don’t have one, but was seriously thinking about getting one because of a friend recommendation. I’d look at reviews on YouTube! You can see it on and actually on a babies foot in action.

I love my owlet. The new version doesn’t slip off my daughters foot at all!
One night my daughter had severe congestion to the point where she stopped breathing. It screamed as loud as a fire alarm and I was able to startle her to get her to gasp through her mouth. She had a purplish tint to her lips that plumped up pink almost immediately. I suctioned our her nose and sat her semi upright to sleep. The owlet is worth it to me.

Another option is the Snuza. You clip it on the baby’s diaper and if the baby stops breathing the alarm goes off. It even has a vibrate function to try to arouse the baby before the alarm goes off. I used it with my 2 1/2 year old until she was one. We did have some false alarms, but really I’m ok with 100 false alarms if it saves my baby when needed. Of course there were not that many false alarms though. We found that it worked better with stiffer diapers. I would not put my baby to sleep without one.
