My child's father hasn't told his mom that she is going to be a grandma because he doesn't want the baby. Should I tell her?

He wants to be with me but only if I have an abortion. We discussed before that I wouldn't have a kid at this moment but now that I am four months pregnant.. I am attached to the baby and refuse to have an abortion. I left him but his mom has no idea still because he wants nothing to do with the baby.

I feel passionate about grandparent rights. He doesn’t have to be involved, but if his parents want to be, why deprive them of a grandchild? I think that both grandparents and children benefit from that relationship. He might be mad if you tell his parents, but only because it makes him look crappy for not being involved.

If you have a relationship with her, yes, EVENTUALLY.  And if you only just told him, give him time to process and maybe he'll come around to telling her. Maybe after you've given him some time, tell him either he needs to tell her, or you will, because you feel she has the right to know.

Unless you know her well enough, I would hold off. This guy has made it clear that he doesn’t want a child, so for you to go and tell his mother behind his back gives me uneasy feelings. 
Sure she has a right to know- eventually- but the safety and well being of you and your unborn child is more important. If you are confident that you can raise this baby on your own, then it’s not that important right now to tell her.

My little sisters boyfriend talked her into getting an abortion, and told her the same bullshit about how he loves her and wants to be with her but only if she aborts the baby. She ended up doing it at 24+2 weeks and is super messed up in the head from it. It’s been two years and her and that kid aren’t together because of that now. Sounds like he is selfish.
