Any tips for D&C surgery?

I have my appointment tomorrow and have never had one, any tips would be so appreciative!!

Ask for as much sedation as possible. I had one while completely awake; they just injected lydacaine into my cervix. I would not recommend that experience to anybody, it was very traumatic but all in all lasted less than 5 minutes.

It’s really not that bad though...the surgery itself. I had one done in July and was so nervous because I’ve never had any surgery before. They will put you to sleep and you won’t feel or remember a thing. You will probably be on pelvic rest for a while and definitely follow that because I moved houses the day after mine and bled like craaazzzy the day after that

I’m so sorry for your loss 😞  I had a D&C November 30th a day after I found out I had a missed miscarriage. The surgery itself is not bad at all, after I left the recovery room, they wheeled me to my husband where they monitored me for about an hour and my blood pressure dropped tremendously (this is because of my fasting and they gave me some extra morphine). I never had a surgery before but once they gave me crackers, increased my IV fluids and apple juice, I was just fine. The pain is literally like menstrual cramps and honestly I barely bled afterwards. There was some tiny spotting but that was it. I was in the middle of packing our house (we were moving) so I had to put that off for a few days because I didn’t want to make anything worse lol the following 2 weeks I passed humongous clots but that was because I barely spotted after my surgery (not sure why) so everything was residual. I finally had my “first period” 3 days ago which only lasted a day and a half and my bleeding was very heavy....  I suggest taking some time off I took 2 weeks to myself just to mentally emotionally and physically stabilize myself... it’s very hard in the beginning but with some support you can get through it. So sorry for your loss, I just had the D&C surgery on Monday. It went by pretty quickly, I was sedated and had my surgery at noon and was in recovery by 1:30pm. I had some bleeding when I got home, which tapered off later on the evening. I also had some cramping when I moved around. Today I feel much better, no bleeding, no cramping. Best of luck for a quick recovery.
