Birth control and period

I have been on Junel fe for almost 3 months. I am a day late for my period and i have been sexually active. I had unprotected sex for a few minutes to see what it’s like. My bf did not cum in me. Any ideas as to what this could be ?? Is it normal to have irregular periods when new to a pill?
