Belly button piercings?

Should I get one? How much do they hurt?! What’s the aftercare?

I had my belly button pierced, but unfortunately it got rejected, which is something that can happen to any surface piercing, I hardly felt it, but it does depend on your pain tolerance, I have 6 piercings, 8 if you include the ear ones for each ear, but have had 10/12, I currently have my tongue, lip, septum, eyebrow, my ears stretched to a 0, and my ears pierced a second time, and a bar in my one ear, I had my anti-eyebrow, belly button, nose, and second lip piercing, my anti-eyebrow was a surface piercing and it rejected, my belly button rejected, my nose fell out in my sleep, and my lip piercing healed up within seconds when I took it out to clean it. Not all surface piercings will get rejected though, my eyebrow is a surface piercing and it’s perfectly fine. As for aftercare, belly buttons take about 6months to a year to fully heal, don’t change it for AT LEAST 4 months to be sure, and don’t keep it out for more than 5 minutes! I changed mine the next day and it HURT! The one they put in when you get it pierced is a basic metal one. You will need to clean it 2-3 times a day, I use Bactine on all of my piercings, except for my tongue one obviously, but you can also use salt and warm water, but you should ask the piercer what they recommend, do not, I repeat, do not, take it out to clean it! Don’t play with it, and try not to touch it, it will be itchy for a bit, and it will get crusty, but just try to use cleaning stuff and a cotton swab to get it off. Be very careful with baggy clothes, and clothes with holes in them, and don’t have your pants above your belly button to cover it. I love belly button piercings, and I’m getting mine redone. But just remember, piercings aren’t permanent, and all in all it is totally up to you! I found that my belly button didn’t hurt as much as my bar did, but then again the bar piercing goes through cartilage. But just remember to breathe and try to stay calm, I find the worst part of it is just the clamp, but not all piercing places use a clamp. Defiantly make sure to do your research on the piercing place you choose, and call them up first, and see how much they charge, i got mine for $60 Canadian dollars, but mine got done by a piercer who works in her home, but I think they normally go for $60-$80 Canadian dollars, so depending on where you are, it may be more or less. Make sure you don’t get a copper piercing as well. Sorry for the long comment lol, I love piercings, and I wanted to make sure you got most of the info you needed!

I had mine done and it didn’t hurt, but it got infected fast because I would catch it on everything. I finally got it to heal and it was such a pain in the butt. I loved it! It looked so good, but it was such a pain for me. Tbh it’s all in preference. And your belly button is so dirty you’d need to clean it 3X a day with salt spray. I likes H2Ocean the most! After I got rid of the infection that is all I used to keep it clean. Good luck I hope you enjoy it and your experience is better than mine was! 😊❤️

I’ve had mine for around 4 years and when I got it i didn’t even feel the needle go through only felt when she put the piercing in. After you get it pierced you can’t go swimming or baths for 6-12 months and you have to clean it twice a day or it can get infected
