Would you choose it?

Question

Mom of one boy, IVF, almost 8 months. We have two embryos left on ice. Hubby wants the next one to be the last pregnancy, but he’s okay with twins. I think I want all three babies, but I’m wondering if I’m stupid to consider choosing twins on purpose when our first will be a toddler. Moms of multiples (esp. if you have other kids too) - what do you think?

My first IVF we transferred two and had my daughter (almost 3 now). 
My second we transferred two (thinking we would end up with one again) and now I’m 32 weeks with twin boys.
I am really excited about my boys but it has been a tough pregnancy and I think if I could have done it differently I would have done one at a time (for the sake of my health and theirs).
A lot of women love the idea of multiples but it can be hard and complicated. 
Good luck! I know it’s a hard decision but ultimately things will be what they are meant to be. 😊

I have a 3yr old and currently 33wks pregnant with twins. There’s lots of moms who got pregnant with twins before their other child even turned one. I would personally wait a little longer though.

I had my twins with IVF. As you might already know a lot of things can determine your success. I had 3 failed IUIs and I got pregnant with twins on my first IVF (fresh transfer). I put 3 embryos (2AA and one BB), two implanted and I had my twins. I was 32yo back then.
With this I mean, that I would personally choose to get both in to make my chances of getting pregnant at all bigger.
Also, money wise. If you have money to hire help then twins are great, because after you go through pregnancy and the first 6 months of hell (maybe 9 months) it becomes a lot more fun.

I have a 2.5 year old and 6 month old twins. It’s hectic but possible!

If my husband would only agree to one more pregnancy, I would do both. But I feel that's very unfair. If he is willing to have 2 more children, then what's best for your health and the babies' are singleton pregnancies. For him to consider timing over risks rubs me the wrong way.

We will have an almost 4 year old and 2 year old when our twins come in March.  I say go for it!! If you think about it, they’re only little for SUCH a short period of time.  I’m team twins!!!

Since you have an option of when to use them (so to speak lol) I’d wait until the first was a bit older and able to be a bit more independent. As in potty trained, at least. Because you’re going to be dealing with not one, but TWO new babies. So the less stress and worrying with trying to balance you have to do, the better, for everyone involved. 🙂
