What do you do when HG gets you down?

Hey guys, I'm only 10 weeks but I've been stuck in bed for the past month cuz of HG and it is killin me. I've had a few friends over to visit which has been nice but normally I'm a very active and social person so this constant inability to do anything is really taking it's toll. I'm starting to get really sad and discouraged. Just wondering if any of you have dealt with these feelings in association with your HG, and how have you dealt with it? I know I have a long way to go and I'm trying not to think about it.... I'm just sad and afraid of throwing up all the time and it's getting really old already.

So sorry you're going through this! :( I was diagnosed with HG as well and can honestly say it's the absolute worst I've ever felt in my entire life...nothing else has compared to it :( 
I started getting sick at about 5 weeks and it continued for me until I was almost 4 months along (went to the emergency room a few times which improved things slightly until the next day when I'd just get sick all over again). I started to feel better at about 16 weeks but for some reason it reared its ugly head again at almost 20 weeks, so had to get another prescription for more Diclegis (sometimes Dicelgis helps me and sometimes it doesn't). I was so down at that point because I thought "I just can't take much more of this." It really is awful and can take a lot of joy out of the pregnancy, so I can completely relate to how you're feeling. Just know that it does usually get better with time...I'm now at 21 weeks and feeling a bit better again, so hoping the worst bits are over now. I just keep telling myself that once the baby is here it will all have been worth it and will just be a memory. 
During really bad episodes where I just couldn't stop getting sick all day long, I honestly just tried to sleep as much as I could and, when awake, my husband would sometimes do things like brush my hair or rub my back, just so that I'd have some type of other physical sensation to try and concentrate on other than the nausea. Might sound weird but sometimes it helped a bit.

It's so difficult to go through. This is my second HG pregnancy and is very similar to Lorry, started feeling better, and now at 19 weeks it's getting worse. Once you accept that there are ups and downs and have low expectations to it all disappearing before baby's arrival, you might feel better. Physical touch is nice too. My husband will scratch my back or rub my feet which is mostly for distraction.

Don't be afraid to ask your dr for different treatments. My first preganncy we tried everything, and after two ER visits and a hospital stay I got a PICC line for at home hydration and Zofran. This time we didn't mess around and I got the PICC line first. Doesn't help much for nausea, but does give me the peace of mind that myself and baby are staying hydrated. Your dr is there to help and offer treatment. Nag often if needed! I hope you find something that works soon or at least helps you emotionally deal with it!

I am 9 weeks and it's my first pregnancy. I have been in and out of the hospital and sick since week 5 and lost 20lbs so far. No one knows we are pregnant aside from immediate family and my work (since I can't work anymore). That's super hard. I know our friends know that something is up but I am honestly not ready to make it public knowledge yet. It really bothers me that the few people that do know keep sweeping it under the rug like typical morning sickness instead of the worst and longest sickness I've ever had in my life. I think people acting like I am being pathetic or a baby is something that really bothers me. If I could stop throwing up all day, keep down any food or drinks, and just live normally, I WOULD. But most days, I barely make it to the bathroom without my eyes blacking out and having to grab a wall or something to stay up right. Just know you aren't alone.

I'm sorry. It is very hard. Sometimes the "is rather be dead" thought enters my head and them I realize that certainly isn't true. I have a wonderful family and another little girl in the way.
I do find that finding examples of someone who got better by week X (where X is only a couple weeks from where I am) and convincing myself I inly have to get that far helps. Though I was sooooo sure I'd be better by 20 weeks and I'm not :-/.
I also find looking at baby stuff online is a nice distraction/ reminder that something good is coming.
