No period after coming off the pill 9 months ago

I was on the combined pill for 8 years until November 2017 where after a migraine my doctor moved me to the progesterone only pill (cerazette). I didn’t get on with this and bled for 3 weeks in the January and then for 3 weeks in February so decided to come off completely in March and used condones until I got married in July when we started trying for a baby. It’s now January 2018 (9 1/2 months later) and I still haven’t had a period! I had some spotting last summer and had some more consistent spotting (for just over a week) at the end of August and again at the end of September but nothing since!

Iv seen the doctor who doesn’t seem worried about it saying it can take a year to get a period back.

Has anyone else experienced this?
