I am roughly 5 or 6 weeks pregnant. Going to doctor to confirm pregnancy on Monday. Has anyone ever dealt with having dogs and a baby? How did you train your dogs to get ready for baby, get them to stop jumping and stay off furniture? All my dogs are roughly a year old so are still in puppy stage. I want to plan on training them asap so they dont jump on me or the baby when I have it. I let dogs on my bed and couch right now but I want to get them to get used to not being on couch since I will be feeding the baby there most likely. We can't afford a dog trainer at the moment because we are in process of remodeling and with baby on way have to do it faster than planned plus insulate the walls in second bedroom (which will be nursery) and put new walls up.
