I don't understand why large age gaps in relationships are so wrong in most peoples eyes. To be VERY clear I am only speaking of LEGAL relationship. I know laws are completely different everywhere but if it's legal than why do people care so much? Just general curiosity here lol. As I know that most places including where I live the legal age of consent is 16. Now I know in some places 16 you can only be with someone whom is 5 years older than you. (Not comparing to every law) but here 16 you can date a 40 year old if you really wanted to. 15 years old you can date someone less than 5 years older than you. Now I get it 40 years old not a good way to help this image, as that would be disgusting and I would immediately wonder why a 40 year old would want to he with someone so young. I'm speaking more of terms from 19 to less than 30. I really cant state a specific number here. I got into a relationship at 16 with a 26 year old man. He was not pursuing a younger women, we just met and once we figured out it was legal we started dating. We have a child together and have been together for 5 years. He isnt a pedophile, he isnt anything but a great man and father. I am his first relationship he had with anyone younger. I know some relationship whom have large age gaps they were groomed or are not safe but not all of them. I believe if it's legal, you do you. Who cares. Now I know a lot of people do not agree with that.
