Shin splints...

So I swore into the DEP program for the military and my first dep call was a real eye opener for me that I was really out of shape and not prepared for basic training at all. It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve started running every other day. The thing is, I get shin splints. Every. Single. Time. I. Run. It’s very discouraging because I can’t even run for 2 minutes straight. How the hell am I going to pass BMT? Despite being consistent, I have yet to feel any progress regarding my endurance and even pain due to shin splints. Any pointers?
