How to plan an inexpensive wedding?

I'm looking for tips on how to plan a wedding that doesn't cost thousands on thousands of dollars. My fiance and I are new parents, and I'm a stay at home mom so all the money comes from him. I don't want a courthouse wedding because I want my family and friends to be able to come, but I also don't need some giant celebration. Any tips are welcome!! Thanks in advance 😁

Currently planning and I’ve been given the following as tips to save:
-Adult only event
-“Hire” Family or friends to fill in as photographer and officiant
- refrain from using the words “wedding” or “getting married” when booking venues and vendors; prices sky rocket after they know it’s for a wedding.

Here is what we are doing, (but to be clear we still have a modest budget):
Cake from Costco, bjs (they do 2 tiers), sams club(also 2 tiers) or Whole Foods (priciest)
Flowers also from a big box store
Wedding mix instead of a videographer
Ceremony and reception at same venue (no travel costs, florals can be moved from one space to the other, etc.)
DIYing the photo booth, because for 100 bucks total it can be totally custom and what we want, set up in an area with good light, and wedding mix also lets people upload photos

Our reception venue was free because my fiancé at the time lived in lofts which had a huge community room that guests could reserve at 0 cost. This saved a ton of money, we just needed to work out details on our own instead of having a planner at the venue. 
I also had a friend who got married and had  a reception at a family friends house and back yard. They happened to have a lot of land so it was beautiful and saved money. 
I would for sure recommend looking into options like that that aren’t “actual” wedding venues because that’s one of the biggest costs
