Currently reading all the death threats posted under Naomi Scott’s Instagram post about the new Aladdin moving coming out.

For those of you who don’t know Naomi is half white/ half Indian. Yes obviously isn’t Arabian / middle eastern. I personally think they should have casted a girl with middle eastern roots, but that isn’t the issue I have with all of this. They claim she isn’t “brown”.

Most of the comments are saying she is “white” which she is, but just because she is half white doesn’t cancel out the fact that she’s half brown 🤦🏻‍♀️ really grinds my gears when people try to down play one co dominant race over the other.

Has anyone ever had this happen before with the kids? Has anyone tried to down play one race over the other? How did you react? How do you teach your children they are not one more over the other?

My daughter due in the spring will be Half Indian half white, I’m scared people will always assume she is “too white” or “too brown” like damn why can’t interracial children just be both 😭
