Name question/ need advice

My husband wants to name our baby after himself if it's a boy. He has a nice name, but I don't want it for my son. I think this is a silly tradition and I know many people do it, and I respect that, but to me, it is just strange to have two people in the same house with the same name. I feel we should choose a new name together and use my husbands name as the middle name. I know he would go with that if I insist, but I feel bad because it's important to him. I just always wanted to choose unique names for my children. I guess I feel a little angry when people say things like 'of course it has to be Charles'. I really want him to be happy, but I feel stuck. Any advice? Anyone been through something like this?
