But when I went to L&D due to a fall, the nurse attending me, talked to us about WIC & Medicaid. She first started off with good-to know info, which I thanked her for, but then she made the comment of “I am 100% sure that you guys will qualify. That is what it is there for to help financially with baby.” That comment took me back, as she was assuming that my husband and I were for sure qualify for these awesome programs. I completely snapped and told her that even if I wanted to qualify for these programs, I couldn’t because of our finances. But that there’s no reason to shame women who do, or to assume someone will “100% qualify” because they idk, look less than you or “seem” like they would? Anyway just overall mad at how that comment came across.. maybe i took it the wrong way or she just rubbed me wrong.
