24 hour urine collection?

So I have to do the 24 hour urine collection 🤦🏻‍♀️
Has anyone else had to do it? They didn’t give me any instructions so do I just pee in the jug for 24 hours and that’s it? Do I start with my first pee of the morning? I woke up at 6am to pee the woke up now at 10 would I be able to start now? If I do it today would I be able to turn it in next week or is it better to get it to them as soon as possible?

You start after the first pee of the morning, so you pee normally, then the next pee would start the collection. Also, keep it in the fridge. You normally have to turn it in ASAP when your finished, within 24 hours, but I’m not sure if that’s just because doctors want results or if that’s required.

Note the time you first peed (6am). You will do the 24 hours from then. In other words collect every pee thereafter in jug until 6am following day. DO NOT collect the first 6am pee. 
You will collect every per thereafter until and including 6am pee following day (Hopefully you collected the 10am pee you did. If not I would restart test tomorrow or just do beginning from 10am and collect from then in until 10am next day). 
Collect every pee, even overnight. Keep jug in fridge in between collections. 
Once you’re done, go turn in ASAP. When turning in, blood work will usually be done for Creatinine levels as well. 
I’ve done this test 10 times over the course of 2 pregnancies 😢😣

I had to do it not as bad as i thought collect from 10 am today till 10 am tomorrow just nake sure everytime you go you collect it till then!
