Mucus plug question

Is it normal to lose your mucous plug for example I lost mine Saturday evening. Then I lost my plug again yesterday which was Wednesday and today which is Thursday or three with the size of a ping pong ball. My first mucus plug came out and then at night my bloody show came. Then after that until Wednesday morning I had another mucus plug come out entirely same size and dark brown. Now today the same thing and I kept on with discharge but it turned a lighter brown but initially it was a dark brown.

I call my OB office and they said as long as it’s not red I’m ok.

But what does this mean? I mean am I going to give birth soon? I have no idea. This never happened with my first so this is all new to me with my second.
