How far along do you need to be to get a sweep done?

My OB will be out of office for my 39 week appointment. Do you think asking for a sweep at 38 week app will be too early?
When are you offered a membrane sweep?

My doctor will do it at 38 weeks. But that’s early and doesn’t always work

Most wont do it early (39 weeks is when most will) however maybe he will make an exception since he can’t do it the next week. 
It won’t hurt anything so it’s worth asking.

38 weeks is full term so wouldn't see why not. With my son (first pregnancy) I got one done and I believe I got stretched to a 2 or 3 can't rem but i think a 3. Just talk to your doctor
