So I don’t currently take birth control, which is fine because I’m not securely active. I suspect I have PCOS and I know the pill is a way to manage hormone levels and my GP suggested it to me to regulate periods. BUT I’m concerned about the dangers of taking the pill.

A few years ago a girl I know of reportedly died because of taking the pill - apparently she had deep vein thrombosis. Now I know the chances are slim, but does this worry anyone else? Has anyone else had side effects because of the pill or know anyone who has been affected?
