‼️ Can they hold this against me?? ‼️

Morgan

Okay, ladies. I’m 20 years old and I’m currently in college for medical assisting. I will get my diploma at the end of this year and take the national exam to become certified so that I’ll be able to start my career.

I applied to a housekeeping job at a very well known hospital near me, I got the job. I went to the place they sent me to do a drug test, TB test, and blood tests to make sure I was up to date on my vaccinations. My interview was December 1st. The lady at the specific place I went to had problems with my veins, so she sent me to another place on December 18th to get my blood tests done.

She sent out the results to my hiring manager on December 20th. I called the hospital and spoke to a lady, and at the time she said they’ve received everything the needed and to call back in a few days for a start date. I called on December 26th (I had just got back from holidays and they were aware that I was leaving for a couple days) to get a start date, and they said they hadn’t received my bloodwork and that it’s probably because the holidays. He said he would call me as soon as he got the bloodwork. I gave it a week and then I emailed the lady and informed her of this, so she sent the results again. I called them the next day and the hiring manager wasn’t in, I left my number, and the lady said he would call me the next morning.

They’ve given me the run around every time I have called them. I’ve been so excited to start this job. It’s just housekeeping, but it opens doors for me that are within my field of interest. They hired A LOT of employees and I feel like the reason nobody is trying to even get back to me is because they don’t need me anymore. However, I wish they would just come out and say that. All in all, I have decided to stop calling every other day as I’m sure I’m annoying the hell out of them. And instead just focus on college this semester, because I’m going full time for the first time.

I will have income, so that’s not a problem.

My ‼️REAL‼️ question is.. in the future if I apply for other jobs at this hospital, could they hold this against me and decide not to hire me? In my honest opinion, I’ve done everything I’ve needed to do to get the job. I’ve been very persistent and it seems like the hiring manager just isn’t doing his part. Or maybe they no longer need me. However, I do hope that I can jumpstart my career someday through the hospital and I really hope this whole situation won’t hold me back.
