What should I say? (Getting a waitress job)

Okay, so here’s the deal. I am currently preparing to go back to school after taking a year and am staying with my parents. I have many financial goals I want to meet in the meantime. I have a part time retail job that I have to use Lyft for and that I don’t particularly like. I’m looking for a career boosting job but right now I want to cut back transportation and find a better environment to work in. I could also work more often, meaning I would have more money.

A restaurant down the street from me just posted a waitressing job today. They have a good environment, I could walk there (no paying for transportation), and I could both use it as a substitute and supplementary to current job. My problem is I’ve never waitressed before and so I don’t really know how to present myself as a good candidate! How should I behave assuming I get an interview?
