What did you pick for your miscarriage and what was your experience?

Firstly, my heart goes out to everyone who has experienced this. This will be my second miscarriage. Last year at 11 weeks I had a D&C because the thought of seeing what could of been scared me and I didn't want to be in pain and bleeding. However, the periods after my D&C were extremely painful and it took months before everything returned back to normal. I have had another miscarriage and need to decide what to do. I'm not a fan of bleeding and being in pain but I don't want the same experience from the D&C either. I'm currently 8 weeks and baby has no heartbeat. Recommendations? Experience?

I had neither. I went to my 7 week dating ultrasound and everything was perfect until 6 hrs later I was bleeding badly and lost the baby. My body naturally expelled everything. I have heard of women taking the natural method. Generally it means you wait until your body realised the pregnancy is a loss and expels the pregnancy. I do not recommend getting anything done medically until you get another scan in a few weeks. My friends baby didnt have a heart beat at 8 weeks and they told her it was a mc. She insisted on waiting until a week and redoing it and they found a heart beat a week later.

I’m so sorry for both your losses. I had a missed miscarriage November 29th (well I found out) when I went in for my physical I was almost 11 weeks. It’s crazy because i has 0 symptoms... no pain.. no bleeding... nothing! This was my first pregnancy.... I opted for the D&C and my doctor agreed I honestly wouldn’t have been able to pass my baby and everything else naturally it would have been too traumatic for me. The following day I had the procedure done. My recuperation was very quick but about 2.5 weeks after my procedure I passed HUGE clots (3- about the size of my palm) this is because I barely bled or spotted after my procedure so everything was residual and it ended up being okay, no complications. About 4 days ago I started bleeding like a heavy period but that lasted only 1 day... 2 days later I bled for a bit, not heavy this time but again just for that day... now I’m waiting because idek if I should count that as my “period”... I’m hoping 2019 has better things in store for all of us and I’m praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I was in a similar situation as you. I had a miscarriage and went with a d&c because I was scared of the pain and bleeding. It went fine. I didn’t have issues afterwards. Then I got pregnant a second time, but we found out at 6 weeks it wasn’t viable. With the timing, I decided to do the pills because I could start it that weekend (would have had to wait a week or so to get the d&c scheduled).  I didn’t feel a lot of cramps and didn’t have a ton of clots.  Unfortunately during the check up a week later, not everything had passed. So I had to get a d&c anyway. I was more upset at that doctor appointment than the two different visits where we found out there was no heartbeat. So I wish I just did the second d&c from the beginning instead of trying the pills and prolonging the whole process. Also, since it was my second miscarriage, my doctor wanted to test the material from the d&c to see if they could figure out what caused the miscarriage. But since I already passed some stuff from the pill, there wasn’t enough tissue to test from the d&c. 
I’m sorry you have to go through this a second time. It sucks really bad. 
I was able to get pregnant a third time and had a healthy baby though. (Went through a bunch of testing and did some different stuff the third time around to get a better result).

I didn't get an option for a D&C but I wouldv'e done it i think.  I had a missed miscarriage found out at 10 weeks baby was 5 weeks and finally passed everything at almost 11 weeks. It was so stressful waiting I was still working and I was terrified I was going to pass it all at work or hemmorhage like my coworker had.  But it all ended up okay and ended up passing it all and bleeding the most at home. It was just stressful waiting.

First, I am so sorry for your losses. I lost my baby in June 2018. I opted for cytotec and the 1st dose was not as horrifying as the second. I had to get two doses because there was "a little bit left" after the first time but that second time was no joke. The pain was horrid, the bleeding was bad and my first cycle afterwards felt like I was miscarrying all over again. I opted for the tablets the first time because I wanted it to be as natural as possible. But after the second time,  I felt like I made the wrong choice,  only at that moment.

Found out an Wednesday after some slight normal discharge, but with clots that caused me to go in for an ultrasound. I was 10 weeks and measuring so, but there was no heartbeat and fluid surrounding the baby so they’re thinking it was a genetic abnormality. 
Everything was perfect at 8 weeks, with a strong heartbeat. So, my husband and I are distraught because we thought our chances of this happening were slim to none after that.
Going in for my D&C on Monday morning because I’m barely bleeding and can’t handle this and work at the same time. I hate pads, and work on my feet 40 hours a week wearing sports leggings in a busy coffee shop. I also start my sorta grad-school in a week and a half and need a clear head. I can’t be still bleeding naturally with all of this. 
Having a hard time coping and remembering I won’t be a Mom anymore. Especially when my two sisters, SIL, and best friend are having babies around the same time I would have.

I just had to decide this and I chose Dnc. At first I was going to choose the pill because I was nervous about the procedure I had never had surgery before and I was terrified ( they had to give me meds to calm me which helped a lot) but the procedure itself was super quick only 15 min which you are out for. And then the recovery takes a few hours i got sick from the meds, then went home and slept. I only bled the night of the procedure at first and the next few days i felt fine no cramping no bleeding. Then bleeding started a few days later for about a week and half still no cramps. Now I am waiting for my period so we will see. And I was 10.5 weeks along btw and sorry for your loss

Well I had my first pregnancy and miscarriage all in 1...and I was 9 weeks about to be 10 weeks and i had to have surgery to remove the baby and my right tube..
So they did a d&c while i in surgery..

I miscarried at 8 weeks and 6 weeks both times I just let my body release it naturally. There was cramping and a lot of bleeding but it felt better for me to do it naturally. Of course it’s up to you and your doctor to decide what’s best. I’m sorry for your loss.

I was 10 weeks, baby stopped growing at 6w1d. I picked the cytotec/misoprostol tablets. 
 I experienced cramping similar to contractions. It was painful but I took my pain med that was prescribed and I was fine. She prescribed me 6 tablets of pain meds but I only took one, and honestly I could have done without it. I didn’t see anything “traumatizing” either. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely felt stuff coming out but it was always while I was on the toilet and the water was so bloody I couldn’t see it. 
I would absolutely choose it again (although hoping I don’t have to 😞)
