So next month I’ll be flying back home alone with my toddler (17 months at the time we will be leaving). It’s an 19 hour flight without getting off the plane and I will be departing from Ataturk airport in Istanbul (First) which is HUGE and we will be going back via Ezeiza in Buenos Aires (Argentina is not a very safe place). I’ll ve having a stroller and a carrier but there is no guarantee he would stay there while at the airport since we let him walk a lot on his own and he loved it. Plus walking would make him spend all of the extra energy right before boarding the plane which might help with sleeping and keeping him calm at least a few hours in the beginning. Besides my baby I’ll have my bags and paperwork to look after and I suffer from anxiety so last time we flew together I was a mess before boarding the plane.

I’ve been thinking of getting a baby harness for my baby to be able to run around in the airports (we also have two more flights inside of argentina. So he’ll be in airports a lot) but it makes me uneasy because I think they look like you are walking a dog. And I hate them. BUT if my kid were to get out of my sight for even a second I would FREAK OUT and it just makes me so anxious to even think about it I would feel so much calmer using a harness.. he won’t throw a tantrum because he wants to walk around but at the same time I know I still have control and he won’t run away or worse I know nobody will take my baby away from me (I’m concerned more for Argentina about this point because it happens so much.. parents look away for a second and their kids are gone.
