Anyone live in a mobile home?

Question

House hunting, and found some new “mobile homes” that are basically double wides in a mobile home community, but the inside is incredible. And it’s so affordable that we’d be able to save a ton of money for traveling and things. Hubby says not practical since we live in FL and have experienced MANY horrible hurricanes together. I cant stop thinking about it though 😅

I wouldn’t live in one where hurricanes/tornados are common. I also wouldn’t live in one in an area that still required lot rent. Then you’re paying a rent on top of a mortgage, when generally the purpose of a mortgage is to invest your money instead of giving it to someone else. I’m also not sure how well they hold their value? 
There are a lot of factors to consider, aside from looks. I’d do some deeper research and thinking

I wouldn't mind one if it wasn't in a trailer park !!  I'm my area it's full of drug addicts and no matter how nice the house is the neighborhood is super important to me!

The area is definitely iffy. But saying that. I live in one. It's new, made in 2017. 3 bedroom 2 full baths. Its amazing for our little family. People seem to look down on mobile homes but if their taken care of just like any other home they can be great ☺

My grandpa live sin a 55+ trailer community in San Diego. Paid almost $250k for it- double wide. It’s soooo nice honestly I would love to live in one out there 😂 I’m unsure if I could do it anywhere else in the country since I live in the Midwest an weather is rough.

I live in tornado alley and get alot of high winds
