No. And I don't even mean "street smart". We need to stop saying people who have those sorts of careers inevitably sucks at life or are socially weird.
Maybe he sucks at geography and can't cite a country's capital for the life of him. Maybe he knows shit about biology. Maybe he doesn't have emotional intelligence, I don't know. Every individual is unique. No one is perfect though.

No. Some of the most intelligent people in academics can completely lack common sense which is equally as important

Not necessarily. Having specialized knowledge in a certain area is not always a guarantee of general intelligence. They may have high intelligence across the board, but they may not.

Nope. Not everyone is smart in all ways. I'm book smart, but not socially smart. I don't think someone's job automatically tells you that they're smart in every way

I dated engineer who worked for the military with satellites or some shit and while he was very smart and good at his job he was lacking comment sense and social norms.  Great guy but not at all smart in all areas.
