My son is 4 days old now and I’m not sure if it’s because he bit down hard on my left nipple one of his first times feeding or if he just had a bad latch, but the one nipple has swollen to twice the size of my right nipple and is soooo painful to feed on. So today I ordered a nipple shield and decided I would only pump from that breast for the next couple of days until the shield comes in. My right breast is perfect...no pain and he latches on great. He rarely ever feeds from both sides at a time so I think this should work.

Any other tips or advice besides what I’m doing and applying lanolin that may help get the nipple swelling down? I never had this problem with my first...wasn’t at all expecting trouble breastfeeding 😩
