Do you believe using an at home Doppler is bad for your baby?

I use mine once a day every morning to give me piece of mind. I just started reading “ancient map for modern birth” and now I’m scared as hell I’ve been harming my baby. I’m 14 weeks 4 days. 
I’m going to try to set my anxiety aside and try to only use it weekly.

I feel like it does more harm than good mentally. I understand why a lot of moms use it, but in my opinion, if something happens, nothing can be done to prevent it.

Im a nurse and it bugs me when people have Doppler’s and use them everyday..it may not be bad for baby but it can be bad for mother. You aren’t trained to use it, therefor you do not know what it means if you can’t find the heartbeat and you don’t know what the other sounds are either. You don’t know what a regular heartbeat is supposed to sound like. You don’t really know what you are listening to. Ya it’s fun to hear it but if you’re doing it like everyday then one day can’t find it..how worried are you gonna be

We use ours only long enough to find his heart which has been easy so far since I’m 22 weeks. We might have it on my belly for 2 minutes tops when we use it

There is some doctors/studies that suggest a connection between an overuse of ultrasounds and Doppler with babies born with hearing loss or problems.

Bad for mom. Creates unnecessary stress in some situations and false security in others. How many of us have a background in fetal medicine to know what a healthy fetal heartbeat should sound like? Or do you google it (aka you don’t know you’re just guessing)? 
But is it bad for baby, as in it would cause harm? No.

Used mine almost everyday with my first pregnancy until I could feel movement and he’s perfectly healthy :) just recommend stopping after you feel baby and just count on that :)
