How to relieve heartburn during pregnancy?

I’ve been having really bad heartburn that wakes me up at night. I try my best to eat well but I really am not sure what causes heartburn in the first place.

You can takes tums/ranitidine or omeprazole to help relieve your symptoms. Nothing I tried to change would avoid the heartburn so I just had to treat it.

I used to believe milk was a natural remedy but the milk helps initially, but the heartburn returns even worse about an hour later! So milk is fine as long as you constantly drink milk! Otherwise it makes it worse

Nothing sorry, even heartburn medicines don’t work for me 😭 I have heartburn even if I eat vegetables! 
The advice is to eat little and often, avoid spicy foods, avoid fatty foods.
