Baby names

Is it wrong that I'm really hoping for a girl because my SO family "Sort of" started a tradition that the boys names to start with "D". His parents mentioned this with our first pregnancy but it ended in a MMC. Now that we are pregnant again I really just want it to be a girl so I don't have to go with this new "tradtion".

I've discussed it with my SO and pointed out there aren't really any names that I like that start with D.

His dad's name is Dean and my SO is Dale.

So my SO has suggested Dean as a middle name for his dad but I don't even like that 😭😭

I understand it's about compromise but I would rather we found names we both love rather than having to settle.

Anyone else in a similar situation?
