Cannabis while #ttc?

Hi ladies,
  A friend of mine is about 4 months pregnant and was smoking up until the day she found out she was pregnant! I know that some women have had a drink or two before they found out and everything is fine, but I can't help but wonder..I should also mention that Evey "once in a while " she will take a hit when she isn't feeling well ( or so I've been told ).  I've asked a few people what they thought and I've heard both sides of the argument, so I thought I would bring the topic here.. Has anyone used cannabis ( recreationally or medically ) before or while they were pregnant? And if so, did it affect the baby?

My natropath told me to keep medicating (for anxiety, then for HG) until I was able safely stop as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I traded smoking for THC tea around 12 weeks and stopped that at week 28 since I was finally able to sustain nutrition. But it saved my life and the life of my unborn baby. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to eat during my pregnancy. I wish more women were open to its capabilities and how it can help.

I smoke daily to treat my HG . I am pregnant , for the second time, with HG and was at 90% risk for malnutrition /death of my children. I cannot eat, drink, sleep, or function. I have tried EVERYTHING. I don't even like smoking weed, but if a few hits a day keeps everything down, I'll take it along with my healthy babies. Never room to judge. I Will also state that while yes, I do believe this is medical use- I do not EVER agree with all the false BS about the THEORIES and POTENTIALLY harmful aspects of using it while pregnant -- or ever, the plant itself has been smoked forever , and NOTHING has ever been reported harmful or negative.... Try me. I've done my research, I don't smoke something while I'm pregnant just for shits and giggles.

I used cannabis in the beginning for morning sickness. IN MODERATION. And yes my doctor knew about it...I live in Colorado and some doctors will prescribe it for not feeling well to pregnant women. SMALL DOSES. I'm 31 weeks now and I haven't been smoking anything at all for months...

First of all, gross!  Secondly I know a girl who smoked when pregnant. Baby came out "okay" until about two years old. The child doesn't speak much and is way behind the other kids at school now. He's 4 and has a special education plan. Not to mention child protection services can come and take your baby away. Now it's up to you 9 mo of getting high worth the rest of your and your child's lives? And yes I'm judging.

I mean it's not recommended but it probably won't do too much damage compared to methadone, heroin, or large amounts of alcohol. Still not wise to do.

I've known many many women that smoked weed while pregnant, the entire pregnancy. And they had very healthy pregnancies and their kids are geniuses i swear! I don't think smoking it is the best way to do it if your pregnant. But I'm not against it.

I was very sick for my first and part way through my second trimester. I didn't take drugs because it was hard to keep food down. Taking drugs is such a crutch. I worked hard and got over the morning sickness and carried on with my life.

This is not something i would do. If you are pregnant, they will do a drug test at some point. They can prevent you from taking your baby home if you have a positive drug test.

First of all, I am passing NO judgement here. I am 22 years old. I have a full time job. I cannot do any drugs of any sort including cannabis because I am enrolled in a nursing program at my college. (You get regular drug tests at school if you plan to go into the medical field) I am on track to graduate with my bachelors degree and become an RN. How ever even if I could smoke or consume a drug of any kind, I still would not. It's just not in my nature for personal reasons. Although, I do live of one of the biggest marijuana farms in Oregon lol ironic I know! it's a legal family owned farm and it does make us a lot of money. Marijuana is Cannabis. The delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in the Cannabis plant produces the psychoactive effect or “high.” Marijuana can be smoked in a joint, inhaled through a bong or vaporizer, eaten in food and teas/beverages, used in tinctures, and topical balms. Smoking and ingestion exposes the user to THC, producing the high. When smoked in a joint, the user is exposed to carbon monoxide from the burning of the leaf as well as tar, which can stay behind in the lungs.

I have a friend who would taKe a hit now  and then when she would feel nauseous. . She now has a healthy 4 month old...
