Extreme breast pain with newborn

My baby was born on January 3rd. breastfeeding started great but we soon realized her latch was shallow when I started bruising, bleeding, cracking, and shaking through feedings.

I’m currently using a nipple shield for when I do breastfeed her. But other than that I have been pumping. I try to pump every 2-3 hours but I am still in so much pain. Even the pump is bruising my nipples at this point. And my breasts feel so heavy, swollen and painful that I just want to cry.

I’m making an appointment with my local lactation consultants but am looking for advice and help to get me through until then
