IUD falling out?

I got and IUD in November and it's been non-stop bleeding the whole time I've had it and I checked my strings today and they were like an inch longer. Does that mean it fell out?

Answer

Not necessarily. Your cervix moves through out your cycle. So it can be lower or higher. If you feel hard plastic that means the IUD is out of place. If you feel hard plastic call your doctor they need to remove it since you're not protected against pregnancy when it's out of place. Irregular bleeding is common the first 6 months with iuds this includes heavier bleeding and prolonged bleeding.

I got my iud placed in and bled every single day. Then I started getting bad cramps and went to see my obgyn and found out that my iud had punctured my uterus and got stuck.😕
