46 minutes of active labor!

A

Hi ladies, just wanted to share my birth story. My little dude was born on 12/29/18.

So I had my first in a birthing center tub, a precipitous labor (2.5 hours). I live 45 minutes from the birthing center. I almost didn’t make it!

This time we scheduled to have me come in the day before my due date (same birthing center) so they could manually break my water and get labor going at the center since we were all worried this time I might not make it in time. They broke my water at 11:30am and I was already 5cm dilated. Nothing happened except the random contraction here or there, until 5:20pm, when I immediately started having painful contractions about 2-3 minutes apart. When I finally got in the birthing tub, I felt like I had to push after maybe 3 minutes of being in the tub. He came out the first and only time I tried to push, at 6:06, 46 minutes after my contractions started! It was crazy fast! If I had waited until I went into labor at home, I wouldn’t have made it. I would have had a car baby for sure! I’m so thankful it all went according to plan!!
