Im going to ask at her next appointment, I know people say hand flapping is a sign of autism. Thats the only sign she has though, nothing else seems off and she doesnt check off for anything else on the list. Anybody’s baby do this and is fine??

She is 7 months old. She usually realizes shes doing it and will watch her hands as she does it. So I thought maybe shes just learning and observing what she can do. But I don’t know

Babies at this age begin forming voluntary movements based on things they do by accident but like. They're called circular reactions and are very normal for learning about themselves and environment  It looks like she realized her hand can flap and she likes to see it so she keeps doing it. definitely show this to your doctor but if this is her only symptom, I think you're ok.

Both of mine do this and they rock but they dont have autism ive mentioned it a few times

I'm autistic and people really wouldn't know until they see me go through sensory overload. Dont worry she can lead a normal life in most cases :) but she probably isnt! It cant be diagnosed until shes older. Dont worry too much.

This is totally normal. Looks like she has found her little hands. My little one has autism and has major hand flapping- it looks totally different than this. It is more of a constant flapping and usually comes with concentration, excitement, or boredom. She is definitely too young for showing signs.

Yup mine does it too, and she is completely normal, thank the Lord. It kinda turned to habit even when she’s drinking milk!

She’s just learning to use her hands. My daughter has been rocking back and forth which is also a sign so I’m freaking out too she’s only 10 months old though! But even if it is autism I know we don’t get more than we can handle we will be okay!

My nephew has autism.  Not sure if he did this.  She looks like she’s trying to wave.  But if you’re concerned show this to her pediatrician.

I commented on your last post and came to see the new video in this group. This video definitely shows more of a concern. It’s very repetitive, what she’s doing. Definitely show the doctor this video.
