Do you expect a “thank you” for a gift you give?
Let’s say you give a Christmas gift. You mail it to a relative. They receive the gift. You see them accept it. They say nothing, ever. Then you ask and you say “did you get the gift I sent last month?” They respond “I did”. Nothing more
Or you give a birthday gift. And the open it and say “cool”. Nothing more.
Are you offended?
Does it change the gift you buy that person next time? Do you buy them less or nothing at all?
