For those of you that used either, which one is better? Why?

Having worked with multiple nurses and practitioners from chiropractic to neonatal, a baby shouldn’t be sitting up until they can get in and out of the position on their own. If your child can’t effectively and steadily hold their head up then they shouldn’t be propped into a sitting position regardless of the “support” of a chair. Your child’s body knows when it’s ready to sit and they will do it when they are developmentally ready- a company selling you a chair to “help” your child sit is only concerned with how much they can get from you ($$$). This also goes for putting your baby into a seated position that they can’t get into and out of naturally- it shortens their hip flexors, putting far too much strain on their hips and lower backs and if they can’t get into the position without help then they can’t catch themselves if they fall out that position either. Trust your child, not the companies selling you the chairs! Your child will sit when they are ready and don’t need chairs to prop them up or teach them that skill.

The bumbo seat are absolutely no good for babies back/hip/spine and muscle development. It also prop baby up in an unnatural angle. Let baby sit up when he/she learns it them self. Kids nowadays sit way more than before, so no need to start it even earlier.

If I had to pick I choose the Sit Me Up. 
I'm a pediatric occupational therapist and chair things like these hinder a child's developing muscles and causes problems years down the road both physically and with attention and learning.

The Bumbo won't work for chubby thighs and I heard there was a warning put out on them. We have the sit me up chair and my daughter loves it

The sit me up chair is good to start teaching them how to sit up and it gives them good neck support.

we have both and like them. If he drops a toy in the bumbo, I have to get it for him. The sit me up has a tray. He only tolerated either for several minutes at a time.

Yea a..... bought he bumbo. I have a chunky little guy and let’s just say his little fat thighs trap him 😂😂😂

I just had the bumbo and absolutely love it! At 10 months he still uses it but I especially loved it from the time he could hold his neck well until he started getting mobile. He was so content In it and spent hours watching me cook ect...it was a lifesaver! It’s also great cuz they are so small and lightweight and you can move them anywhere in your house so easily and I even brought it when I went places!

We never used the bumbo but we used the sit me up occasionally. It worked really well when he needed to be near us but we needed to be in a different room, such as the kitchen. We didn’t keep him in it for long periods though and we still practiced sitting skills. When we used it, he slept in it more than anything.
