Find a new Gyn or wait for the next appointment?

Question

I just moved back to the city I grew up in and my next ultrasound appointment would have been today. I called the gynaecologist I used to go to here in my hometown. Unfortunately he's on holiday and I won't get an appointment until Sep 15th.

Would you wait or go to a different doctor? I'm 25 weeks now..

You can call around but sometimes (at least out my way) new patients take a while to be seen. But it won't hurt to still call around anyway

If you had a good rapiur with your old Gyno then I'd wait for the appointment and go to an urgent care or woman's clinic and get a fetal heart rate and measured. That way you'll have a baseline to compare it to. If you didn't enjoy your Gyno that well, then by all means look for a new one. Good luck either way.

I believe you should be having apts every two weeks this far along in pregnancy and waiting for her is skipping a visit basically... I'd go to a doctor for now to hear the baby's heartbeat and just the regular stuff and then still take that apt the 15th. Just because you visit a doc doesn't mean you're committed to seeing him or her your whole pregnancy.

Sept. 15th isn't that far away. I'd personally wait. But if you feel more comfortable to be seen now than find a new one.
