Ok so I want to use a family name as a middle name if we have a girl (I find out in a month) but he says it is way too old fashion and refuses to let me use it. My grandma was named Ruth, my mom's middle name was Ruth and my sister's middle name is Ruth. I would like to use it as a middle name as well. Here's why it's so important to this pregnancy (if it's a girl) I am 38 and the youngest of my siblings by at least 13 years. They are all well past baby making years. If I dont use the name it will not be continued on in the next generation. Also since my boyfriend had a vasectomy years ago and didnt want more kids this is more then likely my last go around. Now he has suggested we use his dad's name James for a boys middle name and I agreed right away. Both his dad and my mom have passed and i think it would be a lovely way to carry a bit of them on to our baby. How can I find the right words to convince him how important this is to me?
