In my parents’ case yes. I realized recently that my dad’s love is not unconditional. It’s very conditional. Growing up, I always felt like he didn’t want me around and he treated me like I was a problem that had to be dealt with. Meanwhile, my mom tells me I was a good, quiet kid. She would do anything for me. I’ve been afraid to tell her things I did before, but even if she got angry, she wouldn’t stop loving me. I feel like my dad would stop loving me in an instant if I gave him a reason to.

No, I think people show their love differently but that doesn’t mean one loves “harder” or more than the other.
