Nexplanon thoughts

I've been reading and thinking about getting the Nexplanon arm implant for birth control. Birth control pills seem to make me crazy, and I haven't read anything that says the implant does the same. I talked to my mom before deciding to discuss it more with my doctor and she said most people she knew that had it gained a serious amount of weight. So, if you have the implant, what do you think about it? How does it compare to other birth control methods you've used before?
