What a crazy few weeks it has been. I took a HPT on Dec 23 after my period was several days late. It was positive. On Dec 25 I started spotting (brown) and from 4-9pm had horrible horrible cramp/pain. I would have gone to the ER if my family wasn’t at my house. I went to see my OB/GYN on Dec 26. They did a blood test (500) and ultrasound (nothing but very thick lining). The brown spotting turned red and on Jan 3, I passed a very large (palm size) clot. On Jan 4, I went back in for more bloodwork (1600) and another ultrasound (nothing). My OBGYN expected my hcg to go down after I told her how much bleeding I had over the past week but she called me after she found out it went up to 1600 and had me go again yesterday. Yesterday it was 2600. I went in for a follow up today. Ultrasound still shows nothing and she believes it’s ectopic. I haven’t had a period since November 6 which would technically make me 9 weeks but I have long cycles (the latest possible day I could have conceived us December 6) Either way, something should be showing up. I’m going back for another HCG test tomorrow and will more than likely get the methotrexate shot on Thursday. I don’t want to risk my tube rupturing. I told my OBGYN in August when we started trying “I just have a feeling that this isn’t going to be as easy as we’ve always thought.” That is proving to be true. I thought after all of the pain and bleeding I had that it was over with and we could start over. And I’m still like what the hell came out of me?! Because it was big and gross and not normal.
