Chemical pregnancy

So...last month when my period came it was different from any other. AF was EXTREMELY heavy for 2 days and it normally isn't. I normally only have 1 heavy day but this last cycle was EXTREMELY heavy. I was having clots pass and I was worried. I was bleeding through everything...even my clothes. I never went to the doctor because I've been trying for so long to get pregnant and I didn't want to hear those words "you've had a miscarriage." I haven't had any pain or anything but I'm still TTC. Could this be a bad thing that I didn't go to the doctor?
