Wearing a ring

My boyfriend and I wear rings on our ring finger to signify our committment to eachother. We havent really talked about engagement since we already feel like a married couple. We have an 8 year age difference and he's been married twice, both while he was very young and he always expresses how he wishes it was me that he met to marry. Anyway, are there any other couples out there who wear a ring, but arent married though consider yourself to be? Whats your reason? :)
