How soon do you leave your house with your newborn?

Just curious. Most people that I know have no problem with leaving their home with their newborn pretty soon after birth. My mom took my brothers and I everywhere when we were newborns so to me it's normal. But I also know people who won't leave their home for months and won't drive anywhere with their baby.
